July Novel Writing Month

I attempted to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of July and fell well short of the mark with just over 15,000 words. The following trendline should say it all.

Xtreme Creative Writing Styles: Illiterary Fiction

Posted by: Unpublished Guy on 6/2/2010

It was a dark and stormy night. A real toad strangler.

With Illiterary fiction the language is less challenging, the imagery as strong as a soggy Starbucks cup, and the characters detailed with the most fashionable clichés, and the story line is startlingly tepid. Illiterary fiction by design leaves a slight impression.

It was a dark and stormy night. A real toad strangler. With his back to the wall, the big cheese saw a glimmer of hope to get out of his predicament. It was time to do or die, so at the 11th hour he made a last ditch effort to make or break the bank against all odds. As luck would have it, he had an ace up his sleeve. Like a knife through butter, he was soon in the clear. It was just like shooting fish in a barrel. After it was all over, he heaved a huge sigh of relief.

Although it sounded like a cock and bull story to many, the big cheese was flying on cloud 9. Having signed a lucrative book deal to tell his life's story, the big cheese was laughing all the way to the bank.
