In a previous post, I referred to a short story that I had written, apparently suffering from a case of cryptomnesia. I have now posted the short story to unpublishedguy.com as an open source fiction story. Any web site visitor can rewrite the story as they see fit or simply add comments for other more enterprising writers to follow.
The editing of the story is managed through a wiki widget. The widget is not as full featured as a wikipedia-like wiki; however, for the collaborative online writing of a single short story of a few thousand words, I think it will be adequate.
The short story is governed by a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license. Under this license the online content (the short story) allows others to:
remix, tweak, and build upon your work even for commercial reasons, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. This license is often compared to open source software licenses. All new works based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also allow commercial use.
In other words feel free to rewrite as you like: comedy, history, tragedy. Each revision is saved, so anyone can jump back to a previous version.

Quality Disclaimer
I was in my twenties when I wrote this story. Poorly researched, most of the factual information came from my foggy recollection of a brief trip to Germany a few years prior to writing the story. I did not revise it at all before posting. I skimmed through it quickly. Near the end of the story, the protagonist touches an elderly woman's hair, which is so brittle it breaks off. Is it even possible for old age to make a person's hair brittle? I am not sure that it is, so I did a Google search and ran across 41 causes for brittle hair on WrongDiagnosis.com. Regardless of the realism of brittle hair, however, I am pretty sure that I had not carefully thought through the scene when I originally wrote the scene.
I am sure that the story contains other howlers for you to enjoy and fix, or if you have a preference for humorous stories, you may add more.
